Which fits memory loss better?
- Pick the Flip3 if your parent used a regular phone for years and gets lost in touchscreens. Physical buttons and "open to answer, close to hang up" are easy habits to keep.
- Pick the Smart5 if your parent still enjoys photos and video calls and can learn a simple touchscreen.
- Consider something even simpler if your parent struggles to dial at all. The RAZ Memory Cell Phone calls a person when you tap and hold their picture, and caregivers manage contacts from an app.
Setup tips for either phone
- Add only 3–5 key contacts.
- Turn the ringer volume all the way up.
- Practice the emergency button together so it isn't scary.
- Put a sticky note inside the case: "Green = answer."
- Keep the charger in the same place every day.
